Aleksi wallpaper features a Helsinki-themed design with a strong black and white colouring, where strong light makes the atmosphere light and hazy. It is based on a series of photographs by Finnish photographer Jussi Hellsten. The image shows Aleksanterinkatu (Alexander’s Street) in Helsinki city center and features the tram rails, surrounded by early 1900s stone buildings.
Aleksi wallpaper is one of the eleven designs in Vallila’s wallpaper collection Hetkessä (In the moment) . The wallpapers are inspired by the fabrics of Vallila’s “Instincts” AW16 interior collection and emphasize nature, mesmerizing floral topics, living in the moment, trusting one’s instincts and urban city milieu. The wallpapers of this collection bring timelessness, trends or a pinch of the unexpected to a room, depending on the pattern you choose. The color scheme draws upon the nature and flowers for example and brings both strong colors and tranquilizing tones to the interior.
The wallpaper material is user-friendly fibre wallpaper. It is easy to attach by applying glue directly on the surface to be covered with the wallpaper, and by placing the dry wallpaper on top of it. Fibre wallpaper does not require any preparation before its attachment; and after it has been attached, it can still be moved, straightened and positioned correctly for several minutes before it dries in its place. Fibre wallpaper is a mixture of cellulose and polyester fibre, and is also suitable for the kitchen, for example, as it can handle dents better than paper wallpaper, and it can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. The collection has been made in Finland from start to finish. Size of the roll is 11,20 x 0,53 m.
