As its name suggests, the design was inspired by the city of Lappeenranta. It captures the harbour, the adjacent market and the historical fortress viewed from the shadow of the lime trees in the park. When thinking about Lappeenranta, a merry city in South Karelia full of joy and easy-going people, Vilma Pellinen thinks of the fortress, Lake Saimaa, outdoor cafés at the market and their famous meat pastries and, of course, the boat restaurants in the harbour. Vilma wanted to include all of these delightful themes in the design. The pattern is sure to speak to Lappeenranta residents as well as anyone inspired by the motifs in the design.
Vallila's window valances are 60 cm high and 250 cm wide. Valances are finished by hemming. These valances, made of nicely falling mixed cotton/polyester fabric (83 % cotton, 17 % polyester), represent the basic Vallila quality.
